Alongside picture framing and wall mirrors, art and prints are an essential string to the Print Decor bow. As our business name suggests it was our prime motivation in our original launch in 1985. Of course trends and tastes have changed over the past 34 years, but not so the desire and love for affordable art in one's home or work environment.

The Tattoo Queen II by Gill Del-Mace

Following the success of Tattoo Queen, which has almost sold out, Gill has now released the pair to this evocative work.

"In the early Eighties on a visit to Europe, I came across a Twentieth Century art movement, mostly starting in Germany, but spreading to other European countries, and eventually to the United States. I found this art fascinating, and the very name “Magic Realism” conjured up visions from my past. A past influenced by weird and wonderful people, tattooed ladies, contortionists, clowns and movie people and all seen as a child, travelling to different countries, as my father had given up his career as an art teacher to become a stunt man and a stand-in for movie actors. The family travelled extensively with him. All of this led to a colourful visual array of experiences to draw from, and put into present day paintings." Gill Del-Mace.

"The Tattoo Queen II" is the perfect pair to the first released Tattoo Queen when Gill's works were first published as limited edition prints some 20 years after the original "Side Show" of carnival characters were created by the artist.

Femme fatale

Lucrezia Borgia was a famous beauty, notorious for the suspicious deaths and political intrigue that swirled around her and her family. The illegitimate daughter of a pope and his mistress, she was a seductive woman who poisoned those whom she could not manipulate and who attended orgies and had incestuous relations with members of her family.

Aside from that she was a very, very nice girl which is why Gill Del-Mace decided to do a painting of her :)

The beauty of Australia as seen through Richard's eyes has a unique "being there feel" that eludes all but the best of artists.

Born in New Zealand. Richard moved to Australia in 1969 and continued his development as an artist while traveling throughout the world.

He lived for some time in the Western District of Victoria, Australia, where he developed his strong artistic themes, including his iconic woolshed studies. Richard is based in Melbourne Australia, his work has been placed in numerous corporate and private collections throughout Australia, Europe, Great Britain, United States of America and Asia.
