BALLY WHO?

The Bally Shoe company was founded as "Bally & Co" high fashion in 1851 by Carl Franz Bally (1821–1899) and his brother Fritz in the basement of their family home in Schönenwerd in the Canton of Solothurn, Switzerland.

Bally Polka Dot

This advertising poster in particular is a mark of our contemporary society. Accelerated to fame by appearing on the TV show THE BLOCK.

The Bally advertising posters were created by Bernard Villemot (1911–1989.) To quote wikipedia "Bernard Villemot was a French graphic artist known primarily for his iconic advertising images for Orangina, Bally shoes, Perrier, and Air France. He was known for a sharp artistic vision that was influenced by photography, and for his ability to distill an advertising message to a memorable image with simple, elegant lines and bold colors."
