‘Dream Image’ is a miraculous visual conception of (wife) Barbara’s experience.

When Barbara was hospitalised with "first motherhood" in 1957, she began to knit her own bedspread. Each brilliantly coloured woollen square was a badge of her achievements and a visual feast against failing eyesight and immobility. Beneath the chequered cover she was safe in the womb of her own dream, away from the turmoil of the outside world.
